✝ Biography
Pope Simplicius (died 10 March 483) was the bishop of Rome from 468 to his death on 10 March 483. His pontificate coincided with the fall of the Western Roman Empire in 476, when Odoacer deposed the last Western Roman emperor, Romulus Augustulus, though it had little impact on the Church's administration of Rome.
