St. Samuel, Last Judge and Prophet

✝ Biography
Samuel was born to Hannah, who prayed desperately for a child. She dedicated him to God, and he served at the tabernacle under Eli. Samuel became the last judge of Israel, calling the people to repentance and putting away their idols. He anointed Saul as first king, then David after Saul's disobedience. Samuel's intercession was powerful — God honored his prayers. He is counted among the faithful in Hebrews 11:32.
