β Biography
Judith was a beautiful and devout widow from Bethulia. When the Assyrian general Holofernes besieged her city, Judith devised a plan to save her people. She dressed beautifully and gained access to Holofernes' tent, feigning defection. When he was drunk, she beheaded him with his own sword. She carried his head back to Bethulia, and the Assyrian army fled. Judith's courage and faith saved her people. She is a model of how God uses the weak to confound the strong.
